Las Vistas Ópticas y el Zograscopio
Las Vistas Ópticas son grabados al agua-fuerte, a medio camino entre la estampa popular y la reproducción de obras de arte. Nacen en Londres en 1720 y se producen a lo largo del siglo XVIII. Constituyeron una moda. Con frecuencia no existe ningún parecido con el motivo que dicen representar, son pura fantasía. Se utilizaba para verlas un aparato óptico denominado zograscopio, que aumenta la sensación de profundidad de la imagen mediante una lente y un espejo diagonal.
Perspective views and the Zograscope
The Perspective or Optical Views are etchings, a cross between popular prints and reproductions of works of art. They began in London in 1720, quickly became fashionable, and were produced throughout the 18th century. On occasion pure fantasy, they often bear no resemblance to the motif they claim to represent. An optical device called a zograscope was used to view them, increasing the feeling of the image’s depth by means of a lens and a diagonal mirror.

La Perspectiva de la Ciudad desde el Puerto debe ser de Diego Gabriel Huquier (1695-1772), copiada en publicaciones de Van der Aa y Van der Berge.
La Perspectiva de la Gran Plaza es una reproducción, con variantes, de la incluida en la serie Vistas de España (1668), de Louis Meunier, igualmente copiada por Van der Aa y Van der Berge.
La Vista de un lado de la Alameda de Cádiz es de autor desconocido.

The Perspective of the City from the Port was probably by Diego Gabriel Huquier (1695-1772), and later copied in publications by Van der Aa and Van der Berge.
The Perspective of the Great Square is a reproduction, with variants, of the one included in the series Views of Spain (1668) by Louis Meunier, also copied by Van der Aa and Van der Berge.
The View of one side of the Alameda of Cádiz is by an unknown artist.

Balthasar Friedrich Leizelt, Ausburgo, 1765
Colección de Perspectivas
Balthasar Friedrich Leizelt fue un grabador de Ausburgo que produjo un gran número de vistas ópticas de ciudades europeas y americanas.
Se publicaron por la academia de Herz von Herzberg, con la redundante nota al pie, en francés, “Se vende en Ausburgo en el Negocio común de la Academia Imperial del Imperio de las Artes Liberales con Privilegio de su Majestad Imperial con Prohibición de hacer o vender Copias”.
Collection of Perspectives
Balthasar Friedrich Leizelt was an engraver from Augsburg who produced a large number of perspective views of European and American cities.
These were published by Herz von Herzberg’s academy, accompanied by the redundant footnote "Sold in Ausburg as part of the Common Business of the Imperial Academy of the Empire of Liberal Arts, with the permission of His Imperial Majesty with the express prohibition of making or selling copies".

Vistas del Puerto de Cádiz
Las Vistas del Puerto de Cádiz hacia Oriente y hacia Occidente resultan casi idénticas a las Primera y Segunda vistas del Puerto de Cádiz de Nicolas Marie Ozanne (ver ESPACIO SIETE) cuando se trasponen a través del espejo.
De hecho N. Ozanne figura como autor de ambas Vistas.
Views of the Port of Cádiz
The Views of the Port of Cádiz to the East and to the West are almost identical to Nicolas Marie Ozanne's First and Second Views of the Port of Cádiz (see SPACE SEVEN) when transposed through the mirror.
In fact, N. Ozanne appears as the author of bow Views.
